“WHEnever I SEE A butterfly, I know I’ll be ok”

An installation by Asia Armour

"Whenever I See a Butterfly, I Know I’ll Be OK" is a deeply personal, immersive installation that explores the quiet beauty of healing and transformation. Set within a natural garden space, the work features mixed-media butterfly wings and large-scale flowers, creating a dreamlike environment where softness and strength coexist.

At the heart of this piece is a belief in signs—gentle affirmations that healing is happening, even when we don’t realize it. For me, the butterfly has become one of those signs. Its presence represents moments of peace, guidance, and the reminder that I am still evolving. Still blooming. Still becoming.

The wings, crafted from layered textures, sacred texts, and personal materials, vary in scale—some small and delicate, others expansive and bold—mirroring how healing looks different at every stage. The flowers rise in bloom around them, signaling resilience, remembrance, and the beauty of growth after pain.

This installation invites viewers to pause, reflect, and reconnect with their own process of becoming. It is a celebration of quiet transformation—a visual reminder that even in our most uncertain moments, we are on our way to being okay.

For the “Nature Of Healing”

"This piece is a quiet testament to resilience. It reminds us that healing doesn’t always arrive loudly—sometimes, it shows up softly, in small signs, on wings we almost miss. Through petals, texture, and sacred fragments, this work invites us to remember: we are still becoming."
